Empowering tomorrow’s innovators
KPMG LLP donation sparks 8 year old’s entrepreneurial passion.
The impact of a donation of a computer room made by KPMG LLP over 20 years ago has sparked the entrepreneurial mind of young Niko Moxam, aged 8, whose video on social media describing his innovative business plan for the accounting firm has proven popular in the Cayman community.
The impact of a donation of a computer room made by KPMG LLP over 20 years ago has sparked the entrepreneurial mind of young Niko Moxam, aged 8, whose video on social media describing his innovative business plan for the accounting firm has proven popular in the Cayman community.
Describing the computer room as somewhere he has “many good memories”, Niko decided it was time to return the favour.
In a video posted online by his mother, Pilar Bush, Niko describes how he would like to thank the professionals at KPMG LLP by creating a pop-up sandwich shop to feed the accounting firm’s people so they can continue “working hard”.
The clip of the youngster goes into detail about what items would be on offer at his sandwich shop, which he would name “Meal Deal”, and which would be created so the professionals at the firm can spend less time wondering what to have for lunch, and instead, visit a convenient onsite café run by Niko. On the menu would be “a fried chicken club, ham and cheese sandwiches and a sausage, bacon and egg triple.”
I want to thank KPMG as I know they do big things and I just want to save them time.
Upon learning of the video, KPMG LLP invited Niko to visit their offices at Cricket Square, where he took a tour, met some of the people who work at the firm, and where he was presented with a Raspberry Pi computer from Code(Cayman) – a single-board computer designed to promote computer science education - and to continue to encourage Niko’s passion for technology and innovation.
Given the impact that technology had on Niko through the original computer room donation by KPMG LLP, the firm have also donated CI$1,000 to Code(Cayman) on behalf of Niko. Code(Cayman) supports and develops active contributors to Cayman’s technology industry, including programmes for those interested in software development and coding to further their knowledge on technology, pursue a career in the field, or to learn more as an extracurricular activity.
“We felt honoured when we heard of Niko’s idea to support our hard-working people, especially as we are in the busiest time of the year. The scope of Niko’s ideas, combined with his kindness and generosity are vast and impressive, and we would like to thank him for thinking of us,” said Andrew Stepaniuk, Co-Managing Partner at KPMG LLP.
He continued, “Niko’s story is testament to the profound impact that donations and corporate social responsibility can have on a young mind and the future of our communities. By supporting trailblazers like Niko and their passions, we can be assured that the future is in safe hands.”

"This smart business idea showcases his empathy, as well as the idea of saving time from a business perspective. We hope that our donation on his behalf to Code(Cayman) can help fuel similar passions in children in the community who are interested in computer science, coding and tech,” said Wanda Mellaneo, Co-Managing Partner at KPMG LLP.
Wanda continued, “It’s great to see the transformative power of our donations first-hand and we look forward to see where Niko’s journey into entrepreneurship leads him.”
Niko’s entrepreneurial spirit and his passion for technology are clear to see and we are proud of his innovative idea to help others in the community.
