KPMG in the Cayman Islands

David is the Head of Tax for KPMG in the Cayman Islands, The Bahamas and BVI and also leads the AEOI and Economic Substance teams for the firms. David has over 25 years of experience with KPMG’s Vancouver and Cayman Islands member firms with respect to U.S. inbound and outbound tax reporting including large compliance assignments requiring both income tax and foreign reporting disclosures.

David advises clients on partnership and international tax issues including private equity reporting, insurance taxation, check the box elections and other tax structuring considerations, as well as PFIC analysis and reporting. He is the Head of FATCA/CRS for KPMG in the Cayman Islands and KPMG in the BVI.

 

He advises clients on international partnership and corporate tax issues including hedge fund and private equity fund reporting (including Schedule K1s and tax return filings), insurance taxation, check the box elections, Subpart F considerations and U.S. trade or business reviews.  Additionally, David assists clients on PFIC analysis and reporting. He performed due diligence reviews on many acquisitions and participated in structuring discussions with legal counsel as part of the due diligence process. He assists clients in looking at entity choices in the Cayman Islands including consideration of Cayman economic substance requirements.
