Moses is a Director on Agribusiness and Renewable Energy Sectors in the International Development Advisory Services (IDAS) in Africa, based in Uganda. He has over 16 years’ experience in audit and advisory services. He has led and carried out audit and specialist consultancy assignments in Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda and the United Kingdom. He is a seasoned Chartered Accountant (ACCA UK) and Development Advisor and has provided services to organisations in both the public and private sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (First Class Honours) from Makerere University and was honored as the best Humanities student at the 42nd Graduation ceremony in 2004. He was the best ACCA candidate for Uganda in the June 2006 sitting for the core papers of Advanced Strategic Management, Advanced Corporate Reporting and Strategic Financial Management. He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom.
Moses has extensive expertise in performing verifications, internal and external audits, financial and procurement monitoring and has also provided technical assistance, capacity building, financial management, project management, corporate risk management and business development services to organisations.
He has experience in the electricity distribution operations having previously worked as a Senior Financial Auditor at Umeme Limited where he was tasked with supporting the Internal Audit Manager in planning, leading, organizing and controlling the Internal Audit function in order to provide an independent and objective assurance service over the company’s operations. He undertook several assignments including audit of CAPEX projects and operations of branches across the country.
Moses is a Key Expert on the Independent Verification of connections under the Uganda Energy for Rural Transformation (ERT III) project funded by the World Bank. He previously delivered capacity building to Directors, Managers and Team Leaders in the Office of the Auditor General, Rwanda (OAG Rwanda). While working at OAG Rwanda, Moses was involved in various audit and investigative assignments including: Electricity Access Roll out Program, Urgent Electricity Rehabilitation Project, Special audit on the procurement and construction of Rukarara Hydro Power Plant, Special audit on the procurement, construction and rehabilitation of Parliamentary buildings and audit of Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB), an amalgamation of Rwanda’s National Pension and Medical Schemes.
Moses is the Engagement Manager and Financial Management Specialist on the Business Development Services assignment under IFAD’s Small and Medium Agribusiness Development Fund (SMADF) funded by the European Union. He has coordinated delivery of Technical Assistance to review National Medical Stores and Joint Medical Store Operations and cost management to inform optimal cost and fee structures with funding from USAID.
He also immensely participated in external audits in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards, International Standards on Audit and agreed upon procedures.
