Gihan is also a Partner within KPMG in Caricom, an integrated KPMG economic network within the Caribbean, with 23 Partners, 16 Directors, 120 Managers and over 1,240 staff.

A former Audit and Tax Partner for Deloitte & Touche, Gihan joined KPMG in Jamaica as Partner in 2013 for Audit and Advisory services.

Gihan has combined public accountancy experience spanning over 30 years in Jamaica, Sri Lanka and Kuwait. In addition to audit, Gihan has experience in IFRS compliance and tax-compliance matters.

He has held leadership roles in the statutory audits of lottery and gaming corporations, stock exchange corporations, the manufacturing sector, including bauxite mining and alumina production, petroleum refining and the public sector. Gihan’s main focus areas currently are the firm’s Internal Audit and Regulatory Compliance Services, and its multilateral and public sector procurement audit practices.
