Building bridges: LGBTQIA+ collaboration for equality and inclusion

To understand the current scenario of inclusion of LGBTQIA+ community in the workplace.

The LGBTQIA+ community encompasses a diverse range of sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions, with each individual having their own lived experiences and distinct challenges. Despite significant advancements in LGBTQIA+ rights and recognition in recent years in India and the world, there remains a pressing need to address disparities and barriers that persist in different aspects of their interaction with the society especially at workplace. This thought leadership focuses on bringing forward the current scenario of LGBTQIA+ in the workplace to help us further drive the conversation in a collaborative way towards their inclusion at the workplace.

This thought leadership celebrates the achievements of Pride Month and acknowledges the immense support and visibility generated during that time. Further, to continue the momentum of efforts generated in the pride month, this TL also outlines a roadmap for the future, emphasizing the importance of sustained engagement that goes beyond a month.

With this thought leadership, we advocate for ongoing collaboration between government, organizations, and individuals to drive meaningful change, create safe spaces in all aspects of life. It serves as a call to recognize the work that remains, inspiring renewed commitment to building a society where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can live with dignity, respect, and equality.

As we move ahead, KPMG in India aims to celebrate Pride beyond Pride Month in collaboration with various partners which includes corporates, organisations as well as individuals through ongoing initiatives towards inclusion.
