Italy has imposed restrictions on travel from India to avert the spread of a COVID-19 variant. Italian residents will be allowed to return from India with a negative test result at their departure and one at their arrival and then they have to go into quarantine.

April 24, 2021 Government of Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Government on Saturday announced further restrictions, with some exceptions, to curb the rapid spread of Covid-19 across the state. According to new guidelines, cinema halls, shopping malls, gyms, convention halls, bars, auditoriums, recreation centers and bigger stores will remain shut from 26 April. These new restrictions will come into effect from 4 am on 26th April.

People from abroad and other states shall be allowed entry to Tamil Nadu only if they have registered in the portal http://eregister.tnega.org and information on registration should be produced to authorities on arrival. People arriving from neighboring union territory of Puducherry are exempted from the e-registration norm.

April 21, 2021 Maharashtra Government Maharashtra Maharashtra Government has decided to implement fresh restrictions from 22 April 2021 in view of the rising coronavirus cases in the state. The Covid-19 restrictions will come into effect at 8pm on Thursday till 7am on May 1, 2021. No travel, except for essential services, medical reasons or vaccination, will be allowed. The Central government has given its employees the option to work from home along with the staggered office timings. In its notice, the Home Ministry has asked its officers up to the level of under-secretary to avail the work from home option.

The Deputy Secretary and above-ranking officials have been asked to come to office regularly. These officers have been given the option to stagger timing between 9 AM and 10 AM.

  • Night Curfew shall be imposed in the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nawrangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri from 6.00 PM to 5.00am
  • Night curfew shall be in force in all urban areas of other districts of the State, from 9 pm to 5 am everyday.
  •  Weekend shutdown on Saturday and Sunday shall be imposed in at urban  areas of the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nawrangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri  effective from 17 April 2021 to 30 April 2021

Due to a surge in covid cases, the Kerala government on 12 April 2021 announced fresh restrictions to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the state including:

—   Public meetings in open spaces capped to 200 people while those in closed spaces shall be capped to 100 persons. The duration of such meetings should not exceed two hours

—   Restaurants and shops across the state can operate only till 9 pm. In restaurants, only 50% of the seats can be occupied at any given point.

April 11, 2021 Ministry of Civil Aviation India and Srilanka India has established a bilateral air bubble arrangement with Sri Lanka for operation of special international passenger flights between the two countries. With this, India now has such pacts with 28 countries, including Afghanistan, Bahrain, Canada, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, the Maldives, Nigeria, Qatar, the UAE, the UK and the United States. Delhi government has announced new guidelines in view of massive surge in COVID19 cases in Delhi. As per the new rules, social, entertainment, cultural, and other gatherings have been prohibited. Schools to remain closed until further notice. Delhi Metro shall run on 50 percent capacity in its coaches, while buses too shall run on 50 percent capacity.

People traveling from Maharashtra to Delhi by Flights are required to show a negative RT-PCR report that is not older than 72 hours before the journey. If the passenger fails to produce a negative report, the said passenger will be asked to stay in quarantine for a period of 14 days.

April 9, 2021 Government of Maharashtra Maharashtra Maharashtra government has issued a list of frequently asked questions to clarify any confusion in the rules of the partial lockdown imposed in the state in view of rising Covid-19 cases. It clarifies that any establishment selling essential items can remain open between 7 AM to 8 PM subject to strict adherence to Covid-appropriate behaviour. All employees of Central Government and PSU’s cannot be treated as essential service providers. However, Central Government/ PSU employees belonging to sectors categorized as essential services fall under ambit of essential service providers. Download here

State Government has imposed lockdown in Ratlam, Betul, Katni and Khargone. While Ratlam and Betul will be locked down for nine days from 6 pm on April 9th, Khargone and Katni will see restrictions for seven days beginning 9 pm and 6 pm respectively, on April 9th.

This lockdown will be in addition to a 60-hour lockdown that has been put in place in all cities from 6 pm on April 9th to 6 am on April 12th. However, essential services will remain unaffected by the curbs.

In view of the growing number of coronavirus cases in the state, the Haryana Government on 4 April 2021 issued fresh guidelines putting a ceiling on the number of people permitted at functions in open spaces and indoors, and at funerals in the wake of a surge in coronavirus cases in the state.

While maximum of 200 people would be allowed at events indoor, the crowd capacity outdoors has been put at 500. At funerals, a maximum of 50 people would be allowed to attend.

Government of Maharashtra Maharashtra State Government has decided against imposing a full lockdown. However, weekend lockdown shall be imposed in Maharashtra every week from Friday 8pm till 7 AM on Monday until further orders. Also, Night curfew will be put in place from 8pm to 7am. April 3, 2021 Madhya Pradesh High Court Madhya Pradesh High Court The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued an additional SOPs for the functioning at Principal Seat at Jabalpur and other Benches at Indore and Gwalior as well as in District Courts in view of the increase in Covid-19 cases and prevalent pandemic situation in the State.
The said additional SOP will be in addition to the earlier SOPs other relevant circulars issued on the hybrid system till date. The said SOP shall come into effect from 5th April 2021.

April 3, 2021 Government of Maharashtra Pune In the wake of a sudden rise in the Covid-19 cases, the state Government has imposed certain restrictions in Pune. As per the orders, a 12-hour night curfew will be imposed starting April 3rd. All religious places will remain closed and no public function, except funerals and weddings will be allowed.  Schools and colleges will remain closed till April 30th.
