Amid a surge in COVID-19 cases, the Uttarakhand government on 30 March 2021 made it mandatory for people coming from 12 states to furnish negative RT-PCR test reports not older than 72 hours on arrival.  The restriction would apply to those coming from Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan by road, air and trains from April 1.

March 27, 2021 Government of Delhi Delhi Delhi govt has issued new Covid control guidelines for public gatherings, in order to contain the spread of rising coronavirus cases. For marriage and other gatherings in close spaces, a maximum of 50 per cent of the hall capacity will be allowed, with a ceiling of 100 persons and in open spaces, numbers will be allowed keeping the size of the ground/space in view, with a ceiling of 200 persons. The governments of Rajasthan, Karnataka and Haryana have banned Holi celebrations in light of increasing cases of COVID-19. Orders have been issued to ensure that celebrations for Holi, Shab-e-Barat, Ugadi, Good Friday and other festivals take place indoors in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19.  Previously, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune civic bodies have banned celebrations of these festivals.

As per the new guidelines by the Rajasthan government, passengers arriving from Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana would have to produce a Covid-19 negative report before entering the state.

The government has also decided to impose a night curfew — 11pm to 5am in eight cities across the state in view of the rise in Covid-19 cases. The eight cities where night curfew will be imposed are: Ajmer, Bhilwara, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, Sagwara and Kushalgarh.

March 20, 2021 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mumbai Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday stated that Rapid Antigen Testing for Covid-19 infections will be done randomly at crowded places in Mumbai in the wake of the surge in Covid-19 cases in the city. The tests would be done at malls, railway stations, bus depots, markets, tourist places, and government offices. Further, if a citizen refuses to get tested, they would be booked under Epidemic Act. March 19, 2021 Punjab Government Punjab To curb the rise of Covid-19 cases in Punjab, the government Chief has (in the 11 worst-hit districts, imposed a complete ban on all social gatherings and related functions, except for funerals/cremations/ weddings, which will be allowed with only 20 persons in attendance from Sunday, March 21.
There is also a night curfew in these districts, from 9 pm to 5 am.

March 17, 2021 UP Government Noida and Ghaziabad Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC have been issued till May 25 in Ghaziabad and in Noida till April 30, 2021 to prevent gatherings because of rising Covid-19 cases and coming festivals including Holi. DGCA has issued new guidelines on face masks, social distancing during air travel.

Passengers will be de-boarded from flights if they don't wear masks properly inside the aircraft or don't follow Covid-19 appropriate behavior.

If a passenger violates protocol despite repeated warnings, then the passenger will be treated as 'Unruly Passenger'.

A statement by the counsel appearing for the government had earlier said on March 5 that the order will be modified but the High Court was informed on Tuesday that the state government did not modify the order. The Supreme Court is proposing to lift the suo moto extension of the limitation period for filing of cases granted by it last year on account of COVID-19 pandemic and the national lockdown. The bench headed by the Chief Justice of India told the Attorney General for India on 3 March 2021 that it was proposing to lift the ban on the running of limitation but might give a grace period of ninety more days with effect from the lifting of the extension of limitation.
