His past experience includes advising clients on tax computations, validating tax assumptions, structuring contracts and identifying other tax optimisation opportunities. He has been instrumental in setting up the KPMG Compliance practice at North India and has vast experience in managing compliances of various clients spread across sectors.
Harpreet has been involved in conducting ‘as-is study’ of state VAT departments of Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan along with NSDL as part of Central government’s initiative on building IT infrastructure for GST.
He has also assisted Assam state government in transitioning to GST by conceptualising the overall administrative framework, analysing the impact of GST on state revenue and imparting GST training to GST officials.
He has helped large multinational companies in their transition to GST by analysing the impact of GST on their business operations, which includes IT systems, finance, accounting, etc.
Harpreet has been involved in drafting points of advocacy on GST for various industry bodies like Confederation of Real Estate Developer's Associations of India (CREDAI), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), etc.
He is in charge of indirect tax compliances of large multinational companies having pan-India presence, and has been involved in structuring their supply chain and business models and guiding them on mergers and demergers from an indirect tax perspective.
