KK Raman is currently the head of Business Excellence & Learning Services Practice, handling strategic advisory services encompassing model-based, Six Sigma and process improvement and learning services. He is a national IT industry champion for the firm.

As a business leader, KK has guided and directed over 200 advisory engagements covering areas such as process and Information Security governance, sourcing advisory, process, IT projects evaluation, organisational performance / human capital reviews and assessments, both in India and abroad.

Past experiences:

KK spearheaded the evolution of quality governance and management system procedures and software process improvement activities in a premier telecom organisation, covering both telecom switching and transmission technology systems. He was also instrumental in initiating strategic planning and associated change management-cum-training initiatives. He has also been associated with a leading software house in the fields of quality systems, IT audit and softwareprocess improvement, and was part of the senior managers committee for SW project management covering development, conversion and maintenance/enhancement types of IT projects for global clients.

KK has held a senior position as part of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. As Deputy Accountant General in charge of Tamil Nadu state, he was heading the IT function and was instrumental in planning and development of IT strategy for the department, in addition to initiating and handling the IT and performance audit function. He drove the entire change management process, involved in managing the transition to computerisation covering around 2000 employees. He was also responsible for overseeing IT sourcing and process improvement activities both internally and with reputed software subcontractors.

KK Raman thus brings a unique perspective, combining an in-depth appreciation of people process governance and quality management and its alignment with business and IT strategies, and an extensive business strategy and management experience as applied to the services and IT sector.

  • Doctorate in Management (PhD-Strategy / HR ) from IIT-Madras

  • Electronics & Telecommunications from REC (NIT), Trichy, India.

  • KK is one of the few globally certified Lead Appraisers covering various CMU-SEI-CMM related models such as CMMI for Development, Services, People CMM in addition to ISO frameworks

  • KK is a trained examiner on Malcolm Baldridge Business Excellence Model Schematic.

  • In addition, he has undergone courses on General Management and IT Strategy/Audit at the IAS and National Audit Academies and IS Governance at KPMG, Sydney and is a life member of Institute of Public Auditors.

  • KK is active on NASSCOM, CII panels and conferences in IT/ITES field

  • KK is regularly invited as a guest faculty in institutions such as IIM Bangalore and IIT Madras to share his insights and contribute to community academic advancement

  • KK has served on the review panels and pilot initiatives for new models and frameworks from Carnegie Mellon.

  • He has also been an executive member of SPIN, member of European SEPG review panels and a life member of Institute of Public Auditors.
