For every birdie scored at the 2025 KPMG Women’s Irish Open at Carton House, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, along with every birdie that Leona Maguire and her fellow Irish Professional golfers achieve from May 1, KPMG pledges to donate a children’s book to local schools.

In 2024, the Books for Birdies initiative saw KPMG donate a total of 2,000 books, enough to create vibrant “little libraries’ in each of the participating schools, including many DEIS schools.

The donated books, carefully curated by the team at Children’s Books Ireland, celebrate diversity, inclusion, and the empowering stories of women in sport. This initiative builds on KPMG’s longstanding partnership with Children’s Books Ireland, which includes their support of the KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards and impactful programs like BOLD GIRLS and Free To Be Me, all championing the power of reading to inspire and empower young minds.

With our most impressive field, featuring some of the top names in women’s golf, including KPMG ambassador Leona Maguire, top 10-world ranked Charley Hull, Solheim Cup Captain Anna Nordqvist, Georgia Hall, Madelene Sagström, world number one amateur Lottie Woad, and an increasing number of Irish professionals, we’re aiming for more birdies than ever and our largest book donation to date.
