International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. We are proud to support a wide range of women’s initiatives which advocate for gender equity and to support the next generation of women leaders.

At KPMG, we believe that ensuring women thrive in the workplace is one of the keys to our success now and in the future. In celebration of International Women’s Day this year, we are delighted to launch our Gender Action Plan, which will help us reach our ambition that 50% of all new partners will be women from 2025. The plan includes a suite of new lifecycle supports (e.g. fertility, surrogacy, menopause, etc.), emergency childcare, and a paid ramp-up initiative for women returning from maternity leave, as well as other initiatives. The panel will discuss the benefits of diversity for business, the importance of increasing the number of women in leadership, and our new gender action plan.

Previous speakers include Former President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, Lady Chanelle McCoy, co-founder of Chanelle Medical; and Marissa Carter, founder of Cocoa Brown; among others.

Instilling female role models

BOLD GIRLS

KPMG are partnered with Children’s Books Ireland to support their BOLD GIRLS Initiative, creating innovative workshops based on women who changed history thus encouraging young girls to achieve their ambitions. The BOLD GIRLS workshops aim to break down societal barriers and to instil confidence in girls by showing them female characters in children’s books with passion, power and opinions.

Gender balance on boards

30% Club

We are a founding member of the 30% Club in Ireland, an initiative focused on achieving a minimum of 30% female participation at board level. Gender balance on boards not only encourages better leadership and governance - diversity further contributes to better all-round board performance, and ultimately increased corporate performance for both companies and their shareholders.
