The Omnibus Law on Job Creation (‘the Law”) was enacted as Law No. 11 of 2020 on 2 November 2020. The law aims to create jobs by improving the business climate in Indonesia. It contains 15 chapters and 186 articles, and amends the requirements of 78 cross-sectoral laws in a single legal framework.

To help our clients understand and manage the impact of changes arising from the Omnibus Law, KPMG Indonesia and Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo (“LGS”) Law Firm offered a series of webinars to discuss the practical legal, taxation and accounting issues arise from these changes.

As the first of the series, presented live on 18 November 2020, we discussed the key points of changes related to the existing Manpower Law (Law No 13 Year 2003) and the immediate legal, individual taxation and accounting effects that businesses need to understand and consider in their decision making.

KPMG Indonesia and LGS partners addressed the following key areas:

  • The manpower aspect of the Omnibus Law: Major changes from the employer’s perspective by Dini Retnoningsih - Partner, LGS.
  • Omnibus Law - Changes To Your individual Taxation by Natalia Yamin - Director, KPMG
  • Omnibus Law and accounting for post-employment benefits obligation by Indra Wijaya - Partner, KPMG

Susanto, the Head of Clients & Markets of KPMG Indonesia acted as moderator and hosted the session attended by approximately 500 participants.
