KPMG Ghana sponsors The 2023 Enactus Competition
Enactus Competition
Enactus Competition
For close to 50 years, Enactus has educated young people around the world on how to use innovation and entrepreneurship to solve the world’s most pressing problems. Long before notions of corporate social responsibility, stakeholder capitalism, or environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting hit the mainstream, Enactus trained young people to use business as a force for good. Since it’s founding, Enactus students have created more than 75,000 projects and businesses, benefitting millions of people. Enactus is currently the world’s largest experiential learning platform for university students dedicated to creating a better world while developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and social innovators.
KPMG International has been the Enactus World Cup presenting sponsor since 2012 and have been supporting Enactus in more than 30 member firms for over two decades. This year KPMG Ghana was one of the headline sponsors for the Enactus Ghana National Competition on 6 July 2023 at The Accra International Conference Center and selected members of KPMG Ghana were on the panel to score and judge the various teams.
This year, 12 teams from 12 universities (namely University of Ghana (UG), University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Takoradi Technical University, Catholic University,
University for Development Studies (UDS), Sunyani Technical University, Koforidua Technical University, Kumasi Technical University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Central University and C. K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences (CKT-UTAS) – two year’s reigning Enactus Champions) across Ghana participated in the National event. The teams came together to showcase their social impact efforts and compete to represent Ghana in the 2023 Enactus World Cup in The Netherlands later in the year.
CK Tedam University of Technology and applied Sciences (formally, UDS, Navrongo campus) retained their title and emerged as the winner of the 2023 Enactus Ghana National Competition with their innovative idea to revolutionise rice farming and preservation and will represent Ghana later this year in the 2023 Enactus World Cup. First runner up went to University of Energy and Natural Resources, while the Best Team Leader Award was awarded to Evans E.K Dormenyo from The University of Ghana and The Dr. Sayuti Spirit Award for the most business viable project was awarded to KNUST and UDS. We are also proud to announce that KPMG won an award for being the Partner Champion for continuously contributing to the growth of Enactus each year.
Special thanks to Daniel Asante, Sheriff Adam, Henry Okai, Christabel Ansah and Emmanuel Tenkoreng for representing KPMG at the event by judging and verifying the various teams’ performance!
