On 7 February 2023, KPMG Ghana was invited by The Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry and The Bank of Africa to speak at the CEO’s Business Breakfast meeting in Takoradi.
Evans Asare (Deal Advisory) and Emmanuel Asare (Tax) represented KPMG at this meeting by sharing insights on the topic: The Impact of 2023 Budget and Economic Policies on Businesses and Strategies to overcome Challenges.
During their session, they covered various topics including Snapshots of Ghana’s economy in 2022, Current interventions and implications, The outlook for 2023, Tax and non-tax revenue initiatives and Strategic decisions.
They shared that businesses are taking cues from the experiences during the pandemic, upskilling their teams and preparing for the possible by laying the groundwork for longer-term growth.
Key take aways from the meeting included the following measures that will help businesses build resilience and prepare adequately:
- Building dynamic scenarios for strategic response
- Improving liquidity and optimizing cost
- Digitization
- Establishing ecosystems and strategic alliances
