KPMG Ghana was the knowledge partner for The Second Edition of the Ghana Fintech & Payments Association Awards hosted by The Ghana Fintech and Payments Association (GFPA) on 27 January 2023.
The awards ceremony was held to celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations in the fintech and payments industry in Ghana during the 2022 fiscal year and included an introduction of the Ghana Fintech and Payments Association and its Governing Council, the official launch of the constitution and code of conduct, a panel discussion on the topic “The Future of Money in 2030: What do we hope to achieve” and an awards ceremony where various FinTechs, Banks and Non-Banks won awards for their outstanding contributions and achievements throughout the year. KPMG assisted GFPA by independently validating the award criteria and votes.
The event was attended by Andy Akoto (Partner, Head of Advisory), Samuel Aluko (Partner, Technology and Digital Transformation), and other dignitaries from the public and private sectors.
Samuel Aluko (KPMG Partner, Technology and Digital Transformation) delivered an engaging presentation on Insights on Fintech in Ghana where he discussed the significant growth that the Ghanaian Tech industry has experienced, highlighted the factors driving growth in the Ghanaian Tech industry, and emphasised the need for diversification of solution offerings in different segments of the market to attract more investments.
KPMG played a key role in the formation of the Ghana Fintech and Payment Association and has supported the Association since its inception.
