Mehul Tailor is an Audit & Assurance Partner at KPMG Fiji and leads the firm’s CFO Advisory service line. With more than 16 years of experience at KPMG, Mehul brings extensive assurance, financial reporting and commercial experience, together with a strong understanding of the firm’s business, culture and the markets in which its clients operate.
Mehul began his KPMG journey through the firm’s vocational employment programme while completing his university studies. Since then, he has worked across external audit, internal audit, assurance, technical accounting, training and capability development. His experience spans financial services and central banks, energy, telecommunications, public sector and infrastructure, tourism and hospitality, manufacturing, retail, ports, mining and not-for-profit organisations across Fiji and the wider Pacific.
Throughout his career, Mehul has worked closely with Boards, Audit Committees, CFOs and senior management on complex audit, financial reporting and governance matters. He has experience in audits of financial institutions and public interest entities and is recognised for bringing a practical, commercially focused approach to technical issues, stakeholder communication and the delivery of high-quality engagements.
In addition to his Audit & Assurance responsibilities, Mehul is building and leading KPMG Fiji’s CFO Advisory service line. The practice supports CFOs, finance leaders and Boards in navigating complex accounting, financial reporting and regulatory requirements. Its services include IFRS interpretation, transaction accounting, audit readiness, financial statement compilation, accounting policy and manual development, technical training, short-term secondments, finance function support and outsourced CFO support.
Mehul has also played an active role in audit quality and professional development. He has championed audit methodology, sampling and audit workflow initiatives and has facilitated technical and capability-building programmes for KPMG professionals and Auditor-General Offices across the Pacific. His commitment to mentoring and knowledge sharing reflects his focus on building confident, capable teams and strengthening the profession across the Pacific.
