KPMG helped to innovate alternative business models.

Viazi is a platform startup with goal of disrupting the charity sector. Viazi will make donating to charity easier, more transparent, and more effective. The core promise is that the full value of every donation goes directly to the final recipient without any overhead.

In practice, Viazi offers a blockchain enabled platform through which donors can give farming resources, instead of money, directly to smallholder farmers in emerging markets. The platform will follow up the impact of the donation, through technologies like satellite imaging, agricultural sensors and videos provided by the smallholders.

KPMG helped to innovate alternative business models

Viazi is currently in the pilot phase and sought assistance in developing suitable business model for the innovative charity/business operation. KPMG organized workshops covering an evaluation of possible operating models and questions related to international taxation, regulations, charity licenses, competitive advantage, cost control, scalability, etc. The work resulted in alternative business models and implementation scenarios for Viazi.

Customer experience and benefit

― This is a crucial step in our start-ups journey, as we want to disrupt an industry. We need to create a novel business model that is compliant and scalable. We wanted the best minds to work on this, that’s why we turned to KPMG, and they delivered, says Antti Hintikka, Founder & CEO of Viazi.

― I was positively surprised, as we are talking about a business model innovation here, that KPMG had such capability to think outside the box and convert that thinking into something robust that we can own and protect, highlights Marko Myllyluoma, Co-Founder of Viazi.

― We teamed up with Viazi to develop an innovative globally functioning business model. Due to our multidisciplinary approach at the KPMG, we were able to meet and even exceed this challenging target, says Pasi Rautanen our Management Consulting expert.
