KPMG Finland assisted NordicNinja VC in forming a new €200 million Luxembourg based VC fund (NordicNinja Fund II SCSp). The fund will aim to make equity investments in start-up and scaleup companies in the Nordics, Baltics, UK, Ireland, and Benelux. The fund is the second fund of NordicNinja VC and one of the largest VC funds in the Nordics. The main investors (limited partners) of the fund include Japan Bank of International Cooperation, Estonian Balt Cap and pension funds operated by Swedish Swedbank. Other Japanese investors include Honda and Omron.

How KPMG helped the client?

The work carried out by KPMG included preparation of a comprehensive tax study covering taxation of fund entities, investors and fund managers in addition to other on-going tax assistance. The project was carried out together with KPMG offices from Luxembourg, UK, Sweden, and Estonia.
