We are pleased to announce that SemiQon has been crowned the first KPMG Tech Innovator in Finland.

SemiQon has been crowned the first KPMG Tech Innovator in Finland.

It was a tough competition. We were thrilled see the interest the competition generated.

At the final event held on 31 August at Maria01 five finalist pitched their innovations and growth ambitions to the cross-industry jury consisting of Juha Lehtola (Head of direct VC Investment at Tesi), Pauliina Martikainen (Partner at Maki vc), Annukka Mickelsson (Investor, President Emerita FiBAN and CEO of the Shortcut) and Ville Simola (CEO of Maria01).

SemiQon came out on top with an amazing technology breakthrough and a bold and ambitious growth plan.

"SemiQon builds silicon-based quantum processors for the million-qubit era. SemiQon’s mission is to realize the promise of quantum computing by delivering scalability through powerful, resilient, and cost-effective quantum processors. SemiQon’s technology builds upon decades of development and know-how from the semiconductor industry, making its silicon processors commercially competitive and well-suited for mass-manufacturing."

Our judging panel and all who joined us for the final competition were impressed by the innovations of all the competitors, particularly those SemiQon is bringing to the market.

"Choosing a winner was no easy task for our independent jury, but when brilliance meets ambition, magic happens. SemiQon didn't just pitch an idea; they ignited a vision that left an indelible mark on us."

What’s next for SemiQon?

The Tech Innovator in Finland competition is just the beginning. SemiQon will be representing Finland in the final Global Tech Innovator finals held during web summit in Lisbon, Portugal in November. The company will be competing against the tech innovator competition winners from 23 other countries worldwide. This is a huge opportunity for SemiQon and we are thrilled to be part of it.

"SemiQon being one of the finalists among Finnish tech companies was amazing enough but being the winner among all the fantastic finalists is an awesome privilege! Even greater is the feeling of pride, and responsibility, of representing the Finnish tech startup community at the KPMG Global Tech Innovator event in Lisbon in November!! Web Summit is one of the most anticipated global events and being there would be humbling. Finland has such a strong tech ecosystem, it will be our pride and honour to represent them on a global stage. Thank you KPMG Finland for giving us the opportunity to showcase SemiQon and sharing our ambition."
