KPMG Forensic has been selected by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) to act as sole trainer aimed at obtaining the CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) certification, the highest, most prestigious global award in the field of fraud risk management.

The ACFE is the largest international anti-fraud organisation, with approximately 85,000 members in more than 150 countries. Its members include professionals, investigators, auditors, lawyers and consultants who are dedicated to fraud prevention, detection and response. As ACFE’s sole trainer for Spain, KPMG Forensic will provide highly specialised training for professionals wishing to earn the CFE credential.

We are very proud to have been designated the ACFE’s sole trainer in fraud management for Spain. KPMG is a pioneer in the field of forensics in Spain, where for over 20 years we have offered our clients advice in this area. We believe our team can be of great value to those wishing to obtain training in this field and earn the highly prestigious industry certification”. “Furthermore”, say Juan Mazarredo, Juan Arenas and María Luisa Yepes, the KMPG Forensic directors who will be responsible for the training programme in Spain, “this designation marks us as the go-to experts in Spain for fraud prevention, detection and investigation”. Likewise, Fernando Cuñado, KPMG Forensic’s partner for Spain and EMEA, is “convinced that being thus designated and recognised by the ACFE confirms our leadership of the forensic market and represents a step forward in recognising the expertise of our professionals, who are already acknowledged to be at the forefront of the market in the fight against fraud.”

ACFE President and CEO Bruce Dorris, J.D., CFE, CPA, said, “The first step in combating fraud is spreading education worldwide that it is a serious problem that requires a proactive approach toward preventing it. As such, we are happy to establish KPMG Spain as the exclusive Authorised Trainer for the CFE Exam Review Course in their country. The CFE credential is the gold standard in the anti-fraud industry and KPMG Spain will be instrumental in increasing the recognition of the CFE credential in Europe.”

The training courses are open to all professionals seeking to further their professional development in the field of fraud risk management. To earn the CFE certification, a minimum of two years’ experience is required in one of the following areas: internal audit, compliance, finance, forensic, loss prevention or law. In addition, several academic requirements must be met and passing grades must be achieved on several theoretical and practical examinations.
