KPMG Baltics acted as the lead financial advisor to Estiko Grupp in securing additional capital for Estiko Energia through partnering with United Bankers renewable energy fund. The transaction involved the sale of a 49% stake in Estiko Energia , the company developing Raadi solar park, to UBRE Solar Ky, part of the United Bankers Group.

renewable energy sector in 2017, Estiko Energia has constructed 14 solar parks with a total capacity of 12.5  MW across Estonia. The company is currently developing the Raadi solar park in Tartu, which will become Southern Estonia's largest solar power facility. The park will span 106 hectares with a production capacity of up to 75 MW, capable of covering 75% of Tartu residents' annual electricity consumption. The electricity generated by Estiko's solar parks is distributed to end-users, the power network, and directly to companies within the Estiko Group.

The partnership with United Bankers renewable energy fund represents a strategic milestone that enables Estiko Energia to realize the full potential of the Raadi development. The transaction brings significant additional capital and expertise to support the expansion of what will be one of the largest solar parks in the Nordic and Baltic region. Beyond electricity generation, Estiko Energia is developing comprehensive energy solutions including energy storage systems to reduce grid load during peak hours and ensure more stable energy usage. The company has also developed plans for green hydrogen production, with the goal of transitioning Tartu's public transport to environmentally friendly hydrogen buses by 2030.

"Raadi solar power plant is not merely an energy production project, but an important step toward a green future for Tartu and all of Estonia," said Ain Tammvere, CEO of Estiko Energia. The Raadi energy center aims to be a facility where produced green energy is optimally utilized and stored, ensuring more efficient usage and greater system flexibility. To date, 15,288 solar panels have been installed at Raadi, with the second phase expanding to 103,668 panels. The new bifacial panels will also generate electricity from light reflected from the ground, and sun-tracking constructions will increase productivity by 30% compared to standard fixed panels.  The entire solar park is expected to become fully operational in summer 2026.

United Bankers renewable energy fund (UB Renewable Energy) is an alternative investment fund that focuses on the development and production of renewable energy across Finland and Europe. The fund invests in wind power, solar energy, energy storage solutions, and green hydrogen production. United Bankers Group is a Finnish asset manager listed on Nasdaq Helsinki, bringing significant expertise and financial resources to support ambitious renewable energy projects. This transaction marks UBRE Solar Ky's first investment in Estonia, demonstrating strong international confidence in Estonian renewable energy development and the country's potential in the green transition.
