At the core of our Values, and vital to our Purpose, is KPMG’s commitment to gender equality.
International Women’s Day (IWD) is marked annually on 8 March and is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality. This year, the UN’s theme for IWD is DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality, which seeks to highlight the impact of the digital gender gap on widening economic and social inequalities.
IWD is an opportunity to reinforce the responsibility that we have to push for a fairer, more equitable society. Globally, we set an intention to have women in 33 percent of leadership roles by 2025, which includes partners and directors. This represents a third of our leadership across the globe and will help drive our commitment to advancing gender equality, across all KPMG member firms. We are proud that the KPMG Global Management Team (GMT), the senior leaders responsible for developing our global strategy and driving alignment across member firms, is made up of 50 percent women as of October 2022.
At a local Crown Dependencies level, the firm is demonstrating our commitment to inclusion, diversity and equity. To show how we're doing this, we asked our people to share their stories in a series of videos:
Follow our International Women's Day posts
This International Women's Day, we’ve been busy filming our colleagues across Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, to share a series of videos with you on this year’s IWD theme, Embrace Equity.
In these videos, our women at KPMG explore their career journeys, lessons they have learnt, barriers they have encountered, and how they balance their careers with their busy personal lives.
