Increasingly net-zero and carbon neutral has become buzzwords within the corporate world. Here words like ‘offsetting’, ‘sustainability’ and ‘PPA’ are used as shorthand for a very often vast and complex problem. Becoming net-zero requires first and foremost a complete awareness of all your organizations emissions, only then can you approach solutions. However, this is also difficult to get an overview of which is why many organizations often stops after framing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, due to Scope 3 emissions often being hidden in their supply chain and therefore being out of their control.

In a presentation it will be presented how efforts should be structured and key issues addressed for achieving the Net-zero reality. After the presentation, our four speakers will take part in a panel discussion, where the subject and its typical problems will be further unfolded.

The event is aimed at those who, after attending our webinars or reading about net-zero online, have decided that ESG, and in particular working towards net-zero, is something your organization should aim for. Therefore, this seminar aims to address how to move forward now. In addition, after the panel discussion there will be good opportunities for networking with the panel debaters and other participants. At the event, there will be an opportunity to pick up Jeanette Fangel Løgstrup's book: Bæredygtig ledelse – ESG som den nye ABC for ledelser og bestyrelser. Likewise, during the event, you will receive KPMG's new Thought Leadership that outlines KPMG's best-practice method towards CO2 neutrality.

After the session you should understand:

  • KPMG’s recommended approach to achieving net-zero before 2030
  • The initial steps taken throughout a net-zero process
  • The needed strategic implementation to ensure success.
  • How to measure your emissions across scope 1, 2, & 3, and how to target each level of emissions
  • Know, and understand your key opportunities and risk when it comes to achieving net-zero.

The entire ESG webinar series is for stakeholders within the sustainability agenda who would like to further their knowledge on how to work with ESG within their business. Have a look at the other four events in the series to see how you can further your knowledge.

This event will be conducted in Danish.

About our speakers

Susanne Pedersen

Susanne is Special Advisor for UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre, where she was previously director. The purpose of the Center is to help growth economies and developing countries reach the goals of the Paris agreement. Susanne will speak about the barriers they are facing in the CO2 emissions journey and argue how our journey towards CO2 neutrality is connected across countries.

Anne Katrine Bjerregaard

Anne Katrine is Head of Sustainability at Center for Zero Carbon Shipping and will talk about how the work with net zero is proceeding in the shipping industry. How do you work with net zero in an industry with such a heavy CO2 footprint? What dilemmas do you encounter and what does the work look like from her chair? What is particularly important to focus on?

Søren Dalby

Søren is CEO at KPMG Acor Tax and will talk about the role of tax in the ESG journey and how you as a company can report and work actively with tax from a CO2 perspective. Many will probably think that it belongs somewhere else, but we believe it is important to think about the whole business together, also when it comes to this topic. Søren will also talk about how work with tax can contribute to the journey towards net-zero.
