Austrian construction group Strabag has acquired a 100 percent share in Czech construction company Instalace Praha, whose owner was assisted in the sale by KPMG’s Deals and Legal teams headed by Igor Mesenský and Jan Procházka.
Strabag and Instalace Praha have been cooperating on the construction of a new section of Smíchov (Smichov City); hence, Strabag is now taking over Instalace Praha through its subsidiary Strabag Property and Facility Services Group (Strabag PFS). The contract was signed in mid-March, and the deal was approved by the Czech Office for the Protection of Competition in early April 2025.
Instalace Praha focuses on technical equipment and technical property management as well as projects to reduce the carbon footprint of buildings. In the past, it also renovated important historical buildings including the National Theatre, the Rudolfinum and the CNB building.
With revenue of around CZK 1.8 billion last year, Instalace Praha was previously owned and managed by Jaroslav Štoček, who will remain on as its director even after the integration of the company into the Strabag Group.
“Mr Štoček chose us as advisors primarily because of our excellent references. We helped him negotiate all financial and legal terms of the sale in a very short time," says Mesenský, who was assisted by Adam Páleníček, Adam Friedl, and Tamara Lorencová.
"A specific feature of the deal was a complex agreement on the purchase price. In such cases, the experience and synergy of the transaction and legal teams is crucial. This is one of our strengths," adds Procházka, who was assisted by Jakub Kolda and Michal Vik.
