General Manager – India Manufacturing

Our client is one of the biggest manufacturers of components for consumer electronics products, a labor intensive and manual process driven operation.  

• Report to the management of the group based in China
• Represent the group to liaise and manage the overall relationship of joint venture partners and local suppliers in India
• Lead the set up the new plant(s) in India  from scratch with joint venture partner
• Safeguard the group interests, ensure proper approval on capital expenditure, procurement, manpower and others are obtained by the group
• Ensure the compliance and implementation of group policies to the local operation
• Act as subject matter expert of the local business environment and regulatory standards
• Foster understanding of culture and work practise between China and India
• Supervise project transfer and process development for business projects
• Fulfil customer expectations and business goals by managing the results driven framework that ensures safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Resolve technical and operation issues with customers and corporate team
• Drive sustainable long-term values to the company with an emphasis on the demonstration of consistent performance and balance the needs of key stakeholders
• To maintain and upgrade product development, cost control and streamline the manufacturing plant excellence
• All-rounded management to support program management and business development while developing potential business

• Degree or above professional qualification in Engineering or equivalent. Master degree preferred. Fluency in English, international working experience required, such as mainland China, HK, Singapore, Malaysia, US
• 20 years or above of management experience in large-scale organisations, especially in Production/ Supply Chain/ Manufacturing etc, preferably with listed companies
• Experience in components, automotive and other labour intensive electronics / electrical products.
• Recent experience should be at General Manager level, reporting to the board or C level
• High integrity, strong planning, organizing and coordinating ability with effective communication and interpersonal skills, excellent culture awareness on risk and people management
• Sound ability to influence executives and senior leaders on a strategic level
• Working Location: India (Orientation will be provided in Mainland China on joining)
