Ryan is a Partner with KPMG’s tax group based in Winnipeg, Canada. With a career spanning over 17 years, Ryan has amassed a wealth of technical experience that enables him to pursue tax efficiency through the lens of enduring planning and future-focused solutions for his clients. Ryan is not only a seasoned tax professional, but also has a deep-seated passion for working with family businesses. He understands the unique dynamics and challenges that family businesses face and is committed to helping them navigate the complex tax landscape.

Ryan's clientele ranges from small start-ups to some of the world's largest private and publicly listed multi-nationals. His professional experience encompasses all facets of Canadian tax compliance, planning, reorganizations, and special projects. Possessing a deep technical understanding of the intricate Canadian income tax legislative landscape, Ryan is proactive in delivering relevant, timely, and useful guidance to his clients.

Focusing heavily on private companies at all stages from inception to liquidation and exit, Ryan has broad experience in connection with financing, acquisitions, reorganizations, and divestitures, including succession planning, employee buy-outs, and private equity involvement. 

In addition to his professional work, Ryan is deeply involved in community service. He is the current chair of Prairie Theatre Exchange and the CPA Manitoba Tax Committee, a member of the Premier’s Business & Jobs Council, and the co-chair of the United Way Major Donor Cabinet. He is often sought as a speaker on matters of tax, charitable giving, and estate planning.
