As Earth Month comes to a close, our annual Impact Report, highlighting our corporate citizenship efforts in Bermuda, is now available. At KPMG, we have a collective interest in the communities we serve, with corporate citizenship at the heart of all we do. Our Impact Plan helps guide our commitments and goals across four categories: Planet, People, Prosperity and Governance. This Impact Report demonstrates how we have sought to fulfil these goals through our actions and commitments. We set out to enrich the lives of everyone in our community by aligning our efforts with global and local priorities to support initiatives and activities that benefit Bermuda, for better. An important part of our impact is the professional services support provided on a full and partial pro-bono basis to broad cross section of not-for-profit organisations. We are committed to supporting our community in every way possible.

“Our firm has an incredible opportunity to influence and enable change. Playing a positive, supportive, and influential role within society has always been an integral part of the firm’s ethos – both globally and in Bermuda – and our Impact Plan, launched last year, has further cemented this role.” says James Berry, Chief Executive Officer, KPMG in Bermuda.

Our Impact at a glance:

  • Diversity: 51% of our employees are female, with 29% in leadership roles. Globally, KPMG has 27% of women in leadership roles with a goal of 33% by 2025 – a goal we plan to meet but hope to exceed. Our employees represent 27 countries from around the world, with this year’s new hires representing 10 different countries alone.
  •  The Lift Off Program: Our firm actively supports the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, with particular focus on Goal 4, ‘Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’, which we contribute to through the Lift Off Program. The program has helped launch many careers over the years and in 2021 we provided $40,000 in scholarships, 12 internships and 10 graduate program positions.
  • KPMG employees have continued many volunteering opportunities with Keep Bermuda Beautiful (KBB) by carrying out island-wide trash clean ups. KPMG recently adopted a 1.2 mile section of the Ferry Reach railway trail with the responsibility of keeping it clean through bi-weekly employee clean-ups.
  • Movember: This year our MObros got inventive and proposed creative ways to shape and showcase their growing moustaches while our MOsistas assisted them along the way, in a mission to remove the stigma surrounding men’s health. The MOvember finale took place at a local restaurant where Will Green was crowned Mr. MOvember for the second year in a row. During the firms fundraising efforts, we were able to complete a successful staff raffle with a two-night stay at a local hotel as the grand prize. Collectively, our MObros and MOsistas were able to raise $7,058 for the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.
  • 12 days of Christmas: To support struggling families in the community KPMG organised a gift drive where employees donated items ranging from clothing to toys. Through our staff’s generosity we were able to donate 624 items which we hope made the holidays a little more festive for some.
