Shahlar Mammadov

Shahlar is a highly experienced legal professional with over a decade of practice, primarily focusing on commercial law, financial transactions, and dispute resolution. Throughout his career, Shahlar has shown extensive expertise in handling complex legal due diligence projects, corporate structuring, public-private partnerships, real estate, and regulatory compliance matters. One of the highlights of his career has been his leadership of the legal team supporting the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company, where he played a crucial role in ensuring the Company’s activities were fully compliant with applicable legal frameworks and contractual agreements.

Prior to this, Shahlar gained valuable experience across various sectors, having worked in one of the top-rated banks in Azerbaijan, the national satellite operator "Azercosmos," and in appellate court.

In addition to his professional legal work, Shahlar has a long-standing academic career, serving as an adjunct lecturer at ADA University, Baku High Oil School and the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC).

Shahlar is an active member of the Azerbaijani Bar Association and is also a solicitor of England and Wales. In recognition of his leadership abilities, he was the winner of the prestigious "YÜKSӘLİŞ" (Ascension) Nationwide Leadership Competition in 2024. Additionally, he serves as a member of the 'Dispute Resolution, Judicial System, and Rule of Law' Working Group of the Business Environment and International Ratings Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
