While working for previous Federal Ministers for Finance and Deregulation, Steven provided advice on a range of major economic and social issues and reforms facing the Australian economy and community. These issues included the Global Financial Crisis, the National Broadband Network, Seamless National Economy Agenda, COAG reform agenda (Health, Housing and Education) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
At KPMG, Steven has led numerous project teams undertaking consulting work to shape and influence the most critical decisions of public and private sector clients across a broad spectrum of economic, social, industry and policy issues. Steven has led projects within:
- economic modelling and analysis of major policy reforms and capital infrastructure investments
- human services and areas of disadvantage, including disability, housing and homelessness, and child protection
- regulation and regulatory reform at the NSW and Commonwealth level, including red tape reduction and reforms to the regulatory approach
- local government reform in NSW.
Steven has strong project management, senior stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills along with a deep, practical understanding of the machinery and decision-making processes of government.
