Michael Chin is a Manager (Lawyer) in the Corporate M&A team in KPMG Law. He advises Australian and international clients (China and ASEAN region) on corporate and commercial transactions (e.g. takeovers, private M&A and joint ventures/restructures), equity/debt capital markets and private equity. He is multilingual and has experiences in financial services, regulatory compliance, media, entertainment, infrastructure, technology, resources, and PPSA compliance.
He has previously worked on high profile matters relating to the Corporations Act, ASX listing rules, ASIC, FIRB, ACCC, ACMA, APRA, and Broadcasting Services Act (BSA).
Michael was awarded the Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Award in recognition of his personal and commercial achievements in Australia and in the Asian region.
He was formerly a Strategy Consultant for two major global consulting companies across Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. He consulted in the banking industry on Anti Money Laundering/ Counter Terrorist Financing, Basel II Capital Adequacy Compliance and Credit Transformation. Michael also holds an MBA (corporate finance) from the University of Cambridge and LLM from the University of Chicago.
