In a nutshell, what does your business group/service line do?

Safeguarding Risk Advisory supports our clients to meet their safeguarding needs. Safeguarding is the proactive measures an organisation takes to keep vulnerable people, including children safe and includes supporting vulnerable people to understand their rights, and empower them to speak up, as well as the systems, processes and policies to protect and promote their safety and wellbeing.

We work with our clients to help them implement robust safeguards to ultimately prevent harm, protect society’s most vulnerable, ensure environments and people are safe and enable best outcomes. We provide a range of services to our clients, some include but are not limited to:

  • reviewing or developing an organisation’s policies, procedures and systems to ensure they promote the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people
  • conducting current state assessment and gap analysis against different standards and regulation
  • evaluating safety culture, hearing directly from vulnerable people to understand why people do or do not feel safe.

What does the average day look like?

We are a national team, providing services to our clients all over Australia. Depending on client needs, you could be based in either the office or home hub meeting people virtually from across the country or at our client’s premises which may include travelling to various locations around Australia. As a new graduate, the majority of your time spent will be spent conducting fieldwork which includes meeting with our clients, reviewing policies, analysing data such as cultural data, considering evidence, performing business process walkthroughs with clients and providing support in client interviews and workshops.
