In a nutshell, what does your business group/service line do?

Behavioural Risk Advisory is focused on helping clients to identify and understand people-related risks arising from the way people behave. Having a deep understanding of behaviours allows effective processes to be put in place to drive better performance and outcomes. As people are at the heart of every organisation, behavioural risk is prevalent across all organisations.

We provide a range of services to our clients, including:

  • Reviewing team cultures and behaviours and how these impact organisational performance, processes and control environment
  • Uplifting cultural and behavioural analysis capability across risk, compliance and assurance functions
  • Enhancing, developing and/or embedding frameworks, structures and processes to help drive desired cultures and behaviours across teams

Our team comprise people with a mix of psychology, risk management and HR backgrounds. We are a national team with a collaborative approach, where everyone is in constant contact. Collectively our team is tight-knit and support is always available regarding both career and non-work related matters.

What does the average day look like?

Depending on client needs, you’d either be based in the office or at our client’s premises, which may include travelling to various locations around Australia e.g. CBD, rural areas and interstate to conduct our work. Project length may vary between days to months.

As a new graduate, the majority of your time will be spent conducting fieldwork, which will involve data analysis, preparation and support in client interviews and workshops.

What will I learn in the first year?

You’ll learn different techniques and approaches to objectively assess culture and behaviours, and how these impact key organisational processes and control environments. This includes developing analytical skills and a variety of soft skills that will enhance your development and professionalism.

What’s the best part of the role?

The best part of the role is every job is different. You will get to work with different clients across various sectors, each with their different cultural / behavioural opportunities and challenges. As we are a national team, you will also have the opportunity to work with team members across the country.
