KPMG invited the most relevant players in the financial and energy sectors in Angola to a comprehensive reflection about the challenges raised by the VAT after more than two years of application of this new tax framework.

This seminar brought together the main players on those sectors and the national Tax Authority (AGT), addressing the issues with interest to banks and insurance companies as well as entities operating in the oil sector.

KPMG’s professionals addressed all the technical topics of interest to the debate (Gustavo Amaral, Lídia Santos and Inês Pereira). Also present at the event were Luís Magalhães and Paulo Paixão (Head of Tax and Audit of KPMG Portugal, respectively) and Inês Filipe (PCA of KPMG Angola), Luísa Bento, Luís Reis and Pedro Fernandes. The Ministry of Finance was represented by Dr. Tiago Cordeiro dos Santos, member from the Board of Directors of AGT, who was accompanied by a large team of senior staff from the General Tax Administration, including the Director of DSIVA, Dr. João Love, and the Director of DTE, Dr. Pedro Marques.
