Saif Shawer

Saif Shawer is a Partner in KPMG Lower Gulf’s Audit practice, with more than 18 years of audit experience. He started his professional career in 1998, working with several professional services firms in Toronto before joining KPMG Lower Gulf’s Abu Dhabi office in 2013. Since arriving in the United Arab Emirates, Saif has worked with family group businesses across the emirates, however he has mainly worked with those based in Abu Dhabi. He also leads the audits of several governmental entities and supports auditing of listed companies, as well as large local and multinational groups. Saif specializes in IPSAS, enabling him to lead the audit and advisory services of several governmental entities. Over the course of his career, Saif worked in the internal control department of a large financial institution and was involved in SOX reviews of large listed companies in both Canada and the USA. In addition, he provided advisory services to Boards of Directors, supporting increased fiscal efficiency, compliance with agreed upon terms of spending and analyzing the valuations of properties and impairments.
