Background

Brett has over fifteen years of experience serving Healthcare clients with nine years in KPMG's Deal Advisory practice leading both buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions in the healthcare industry. Brett works with both strategic and private equity investors and is skilled at addressing issues unique to both.

Prior to joining the Deal Advisory group, Brett spent six years with KPMG's Audit practice, specializing in the healthcare sector including for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare and life science companies.

Professional and industry experience 

Brett has led numerous due diligence engagements of target companies in the healthcare industry and assisted in both buying and selling of target companies. Brett's experience in healthcare deal advisory has focused on healthcare providers, veterinarian clinics/hospitals, healthcare IT, physician practices (anesthesia, ophthalmology, GI, pain, orthopedics, and dermatology), behavioral health, animal health, home health and hospice, specialty pharmacy, pharmaceuticals, and pharmaceutical services (CROs, CSOs, and CDMOs). Select engagements include:

  • Led financial and business due diligence for a private equity client on its $1b+ acquisition of the largest general practice vet aggregator in Canada.
  • Led financial and business due diligence for private equity client on multiple potential acquisitions of specialty veterinarian hospital aggregators.
  • Led financial due diligence for a private equity backed healthcare provider system’s acquisition of a health system consisting of 18 hospitals and a multi-billion dollar managed care business.
  • Provided financial due diligence for a public pharmaceutical company’s acquisition of a biopharmaceutical company.
  • Directed financial and business due diligence for an acquisition of a carve-out of eight hospitals from one of the largest health systems in the US.
  • Led sell-side financial due diligence assistance for the largest dermatology practice in the US with over 150 locations
