Ben van der Veer

Chairman, KPMG in Europe, Middle East, Africa region—Ben van der Veer

Ben van der Veer was recently appointed as the Chairman of KPMG International's Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMA) region.

Ben began his professional career at KPMG in the Netherlands in 1976 and joined the Dutch partnership in 1987. After a period as Chairman of the largest Dutch KPMG office, he was appointed Chairman of the Dutch Audit Practice. He still is involved at a professional level with major international clients of the Dutch firm.

In 1997 Ben was elected a member of the Board of Management of KPMG in the Netherlands, and as chairman of the Board of Management in 1999. In the same year he became member of the Board of KPMG International. Ben will simultaneously act as chairman of the Dutch Board of Management and as EMA chairman.

Ben serves in several capacities in various international business networks, charities, and cultural initiatives. He is married and has two sons.
